UGC revised Pay Scales:CAS and Pay Structure for Lecturers:
72CAREER ADVANCEMENT SCHEME
As per the notification of MHRD[No.1-32/2006-U.II/U.I(!)] dated 31St December, 2008, the pay structure for different categories of Lecturers:
i). With Ph.D degree:
- Assistant Professors in the Pay Band of Rs.15600- 39100 with AGP of Rs,6000 changes into AGP of Rs.7000 in the completed service of 4 years.
- Assistant Professors in the Pay Band of Rs.15600- 39100 with AGP of Rs.7000 changes into AGP of Rs.8000 in the completed service of 5 years.
- Assistant Professors re-designated as Associate Professor and changes into the Pay Band of Rs. 37400-67000 with AGP Pay of Rs.9000 in the completed service of 3 years.
(inumbent Readers and Lecturers (Selection Grade) who have completed 3 years in the current pay scale of Rs. 12000-18300 on 1.1.2006).
- Associate Professors re-designated as Professor and changes into the Pay Band of Rs. 37400-67000 with AGP Pay of Rs.10,000 in the completed service of 3 years.
- (Ten percent of the number of sanctioned posts of Associate Professor in an Under Graduate College shall be that of Professors and One-fourth (25%) of the posts of Professor in UG Colleges shall be directly recruited or filled on deputation by eligible teachers and the remaining three-fourths (75%) of posts of Professors shall be filled by merit promotion from among eligible Associate Professors of the relevant department of the Under Graduate College. Where the number of posts of Professor worked out as a percentage of the number of posts of Associate Professor for merit promotion or direct recruitment/ deputation is not an integer, the same shall be rounded off to the next higher integer).
ii). With M.Phil degree:
- Assistant Professors in the Pay Band of Rs.15600- 39100 with AGP of Rs.6000 changes into AGP of Rs,7000 in the completed service of 5 years.
- Assistant Professors in the Pay Band of Rs.15600- 39100 with AGP of Rs.7000 changes into AGP of Rs.8000 in the completed service of 5 years.
- Assistant Professors re-designated as Associate Professor and changes into the Pay Band of Rs. 37400-67000 with AGP Pay of Rs.9000 in the completed service of 3 years.
(inumbent Readers and Lecturers (Selection Grade) who have completed 3 years in the current pay scale of Rs. 12000-18300 on 1.1.2006).
ii). With out Ph.D/M.Phil degree:
- Assistant Professors in the Pay Band of Rs.15600- 39100 with AGP of Rs.6000 changes into AGP of Rs,7000 in the completed service of 6 years.
- Assistant Professors in the Pay Band of Rs.15600- 39100 with AGP of Rs.7000 changes into AGP of Rs.8000 in the completed service of 5 years.
- Assistant Professors re-designated as Associate Professor and changes into the Pay Band of Rs. 37400-67000 with AGP Pay of Rs.9000 in the completed service of 3 years.
(inumbent Readers and Lecturers (Selection Grade) who have completed 3 years in the current pay scale of Rs. 12000-18300 on 1.1.2006).

qualification = M. Tech.

Sir, I,Vinod kumar kain working as a lecturer in National Institute for the Visually handicapped, Under the ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, an autonomus body. I joined on the basis of M.ed. (Special Education). In this month i am finishing my Ph.D. and in my institutions bylows mention that we will follow the rules and regulation of the central government. In cetral government or UGC has a povision to give 4 increment after finishing the Ph.D. I want to ask that this procedures will follow in my condition also. Please clarify my doubt.

I am a selection grade lecturer and i am now in a college with 26 years experience .what about my present ugc scale/
is there any possibility to be directly recruited as associate professor with out any PhD or NET. (is NET required for associate professor -direct recruitement) .
I joined as asst prof in scale 12000-420-18300 on February 2009 in Orissa. what will be the pay as per 6th pay?
I would like to know that are there any spl. allowences/ T.A anounced by UGC for college teachers in 6th. pay comission?
